Spijkstaal was founded in Spijkenisse in 1938 by Gerrit Neuteboom.
This village blacksmith from Spijkenisse initially built electrically welded, steel agricultural wagons suitable for carrying heavy loads and fitted with pneumatic tyres.
Real fame came when electric delivery and work wagons were built from 1955 onwards, and from 1970 the SRV wagons. The work wagons such as the milk wagon were also popularly called "Iron Dog"."
Artitec ready-made models are handmade from synthetic resin and etched metal parts.
Each model is hand-painted and sometimes slightly weathered.
Each of these models are unique collector's items. .
